Introduction
In a quiet village surrounded by green hills, there lived a young shepherd boy named Evan. Every morning, Evan took the village sheep to a wide grassy field near the forest. His job was simple: watch the sheep and keep them safe.
At first, Evan enjoyed his work. But after many days of sitting alone while the sheep peacefully ate grass, he began to feel bored.
One afternoon, Evan looked toward the village and thought of a mischievous idea.
He took a deep breath and shouted:
“Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!”
The villagers heard his cry and quickly ran toward the field.
When they arrived, they found no wolf.
Evan started laughing.
“I fooled you!” he said.
The villagers were upset, but they returned to the village.
The Second Trick
A few days later, Evan became bored again.
He remembered how everyone had rushed to help him the first time.
So he shouted even louder:
“Wolf! Please help! The wolf is here!”
Once again, the villagers dropped what they were doing and hurried to the field.
But there was no wolf.
Evan laughed again.
The villagers were now angry.
An old farmer looked at him seriously and said:
“Evan, never use a lie to make people run after you. One day, you may really need help, and nobody will believe you.”
Evan nodded, but he did not take the warning seriously.
The Real Wolf
One evening, the sky became dark and the wind grew cold.
Evan was watching the sheep when he suddenly heard a strange sound coming from the forest.
He looked carefully.
Two bright eyes appeared between the trees.
It was a real wolf.
The animal slowly came closer to the sheep.
Evan became frightened.
He climbed onto a rock and shouted with all his strength:
“Wolf! Wolf! This time it is real! Please help me!”
He kept shouting.
But the village remained quiet.
Nobody came.
The villagers thought Evan was playing another trick.
Evan watched helplessly as the wolf frightened the sheep and scattered the flock.
At last, the wolf disappeared back into the forest.
A Lesson Evan Never Forgot
When Evan returned to the village, he was ashamed.
He told everyone what had happened.
The old farmer placed a hand on his shoulder and said:
“Today you learned something more important than how to watch sheep. You learned that trust is difficult to build but very easy to lose.”
Evan understood his mistake.
From that day forward, he never lied to the villagers again.
It took a long time before people trusted him completely, but Evan patiently proved himself through honest actions.
Years later, whenever children in the village wanted to play tricks, Evan would tell them his story.
He always ended with the same message:

لڑکا جو بھیڑیا بھیڑیا پکارتا تھا
ایک پُرسکون گاؤں کے قریب سبز پہاڑیوں کے درمیان ایک نوجوان چرواہا رہتا تھا جس کا نام ایون تھا۔ ہر صبح وہ گاؤں کی بھیڑوں کو جنگل کے قریب ایک سرسبز میدان میں لے جاتا تھا۔ اس کا کام بھیڑوں کی حفاظت کرنا تھا۔
شروع میں ایون کو اپنا کام بہت اچھا لگتا تھا، لیکن کئی دن تک اکیلے بیٹھنے کی وجہ سے وہ بور ہونے لگا۔
ایک دن اس کے ذہن میں شرارت کا خیال آیا۔
اس نے زور سے چلانا شروع کیا:
“بھیڑیا! بھیڑیا! بھیڑیا بھیڑوں پر حملہ کر رہا ہے!”
گاؤں والوں نے آواز سنی اور فوراً میدان کی طرف دوڑ پڑے۔
لیکن وہاں کوئی بھیڑیا نہیں تھا۔
ایون ہنسنے لگا اور بولا:
“میں نے آپ سب کو بے وقوف بنا دیا!”
گاؤں والے ناراض ہوئے اور واپس چلے گئے۔
دوسری شرارت
کچھ دن بعد ایون دوبارہ بور ہوگیا۔
اسے پہلی بار کی شرارت یاد آئی، جب سب لوگ اس کی مدد کے لیے بھاگے تھے۔
اس نے دوبارہ زور سے پکارا:
“بھیڑیا! جلدی آؤ! بھیڑیا یہاں ہے!”
ایک بار پھر گاؤں والے اپنا کام چھوڑ کر میدان کی طرف دوڑے۔
لیکن اس مرتبہ بھی وہاں کوئی بھیڑیا نہیں تھا۔
ایون پھر ہنسنے لگا۔
گاؤں والے بہت ناراض ہوئے۔
ایک بوڑھے کسان نے اسے سنجیدگی سے سمجھایا:
“ایون، لوگوں کو جھوٹ بول کر پریشان مت کرو۔ ایک دن تمہیں واقعی مدد کی ضرورت ہوگی، لیکن اس وقت شاید کوئی تمہاری بات پر یقین نہ کرے۔”
ایون نے سر ہلایا، مگر اس نے اس نصیحت کو سنجیدگی سے نہیں لیا۔
اصل بھیڑیا
ایک شام آسمان پر اندھیرا چھانے لگا اور ٹھنڈی ہوا چلنے لگی۔
ایون بھیڑوں کی نگرانی کر رہا تھا کہ اچانک اسے جنگل کی طرف سے ایک عجیب آواز سنائی دی۔
اس نے غور سے دیکھا۔
درختوں کے درمیان دو چمکتی ہوئی آنکھیں نظر آئیں۔
یہ ایک حقیقی بھیڑیا تھا۔
بھیڑیا آہستہ آہستہ بھیڑوں کی طرف بڑھنے لگا۔
ایون بہت خوفزدہ ہوگیا۔
وہ ایک چٹان پر چڑھا اور پوری طاقت سے چلایا:
“بھیڑیا! بھیڑیا! اس بار یہ واقعی ہے! میری مدد کرو!”
وہ بار بار پکارتا رہا۔
لیکن گاؤں میں خاموشی رہی۔
کوئی اس کی مدد کے لیے نہیں آیا۔
گاؤں والوں نے سوچا کہ ایون دوبارہ مذاق کر رہا ہے۔
ایون بے بسی سے دیکھتا رہا جبکہ بھیڑیا بھیڑوں کو خوفزدہ کرکے منتشر کرنے لگا۔
آخرکار بھیڑیا واپس جنگل میں چلا گیا۔
ایون کا سبق
جب ایون گاؤں واپس آیا تو اسے اپنی غلطی پر بہت شرمندگی ہوئی۔
اس نے سب لوگوں کو سچ بتا دیا۔
بوڑھے کسان نے اس کے کندھے پر ہاتھ رکھا اور کہا:
“آج تم نے بھیڑوں کی حفاظت سے زیادہ اہم چیز سیکھی ہے۔ تم نے سیکھا ہے کہ اعتماد حاصل کرنا مشکل ہوتا ہے، لیکن اسے کھونا بہت آسان ہوتا ہے۔”
ایون کو اپنی غلطی سمجھ آگئی۔
اس دن کے بعد اس نے کبھی گاؤں والوں سے جھوٹ نہیں بولا۔
لوگوں کو دوبارہ اس پر مکمل اعتماد کرنے میں کافی وقت لگا، لیکن ایون نے اپنے ایماندار رویے سے آہستہ آہستہ اپنا اعتماد واپس حاصل کرلیا۔
کئی سال بعد جب بھی گاؤں کے بچے جھوٹا مذاق کرنے کی کوشش کرتے، ایون انہیں اپنی کہانی سناتا۔
اور آخر میں ہمیشہ کہتا:
“جب لوگ تمہاری باتوں پر یقین کرنا چھوڑ دیں، تو سچ بھی جھوٹ جیسا محسوس ہوسکتا ہے۔”
کہانی کا سبق
ایمانداری اعتماد پیدا کرتی ہے، جبکہ بار بار بولا گیا جھوٹ اعتماد ختم کردیتا ہے۔
